Gilt bronze. Over 1” (1.03”) width. Iconic heart form with foliate motif. Foliate designs were favored by Vikings and incorporated into about half of heart pendants. The heart stood for bravery, fortitude, loyalty, integrity, all attributes of the Viking warrior. It is abundantly referenced in Viking literature.
